MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Two men wanted in connection with a killing in a parking garage at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood back in July have been arrested, Seminole Police announced Thursday.
Seminole Police said Dion Brown and Jaleel Arnett Thomas were charged with felony murder with a firearm with the July 16th killing of Pierre Jules LaCroze, who was shot and killed after arriving by car on the sixth-floor garage.
Dion Brown was arrested on Wednesday near Orlando and is being held without bond.
Jaleel Thomas was arrested on November 24 in Fort Lauderdale and is also being held without bond in Broward County.
“Successful resolution of this case is due to solid criminal investigative work and excellent cooperation from the Office of the State Attorney in Broward County and several law enforcement agencies, including the Miami Office of the FBI and its Florida Safe Trails Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Sheriff’s Offices in Broward and Seminole Counties,” said William Latchford, Executive Director of Public Safety for the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the Seminole Police Department. “We also want to thank the community for the many important tips received from Broward County Crime Stoppers as a result of extensive local news coverage.”

Police said Brown would be transported to Broward County, where he and Thomas will stand trial.
The men police say are responsible for a 37-year-old man’s death are now facing murder charges in the deadly shooting, nearly five months later.
Seminole Police were on the lookout for three people in connection with Pierre Jules LaCroze’s death on July 16. LaCroze, who lived in North Lauderdale, was shot to death inside his car on the sixth floor of the Winner’s Way parking garage at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, about 12:30 a.m.
Those responsible were Dion Brown, 21, and Jaleel Arnett Thomas, 25, according to police. The men were trying to rob LaCroze when they shot him in the head, according to arrest records. They left jewelry pendants, some of them broken, beside his body as they fled, the documents say.
The third person involved in the robbery was Brown’s girlfriend, Jasmine Hamilton, who went to police after Brown threatened her to keep the shooting a secret, sold the gun he used in the killing and skipped town, the report says.
The night of the shooting, the group arrived at the parking garage about 15 minutes before the men attempted to rob LaCroze and shot him, records say. Surveillance video shows them parking Hamilton’s Ford Focus on the sixth floor of the garage and walking inside the casino before Brown returned to the car to get his cell phone.
LaCroze parked his blue Mercedes Benz about three cars away from the Ford where Brown had just fetched his phone. Call records indicate Brown called Thomas and Hamilton, and they all came back to the parking garage.
Hamilton told police that Thomas and Brown discussed the robbery and then parked Hamilton’s Ford farther away while Brown carried out the crime.
After the shooting, they went back to Thomas’ house, where they burned Brown’s clothing and agreed to “act like nothing ever happened”, the arrest report says. After that, as Hamilton drove Brown to his house, he flashed a firearm under his shirt to intimidate her, reminding her that he “knows her daily routine, where she resides as well as her family,” including her children, the report says.
After stopping by Brown’s house, they checked in at the Rodeway Inn at 2440 W. State Road 84 in Fort Lauderdale, where they stayed that night, the report says. The next night, Brown left town from the Sheridan Street Tri-Rail station in Hollywood and told someone over the phone, who the report suggests is a drug dealer, that he would soon be in Oviedo, Florida.
Thomas was arrested Nov. 24 in Fort Lauderdale, and Brown was arrested Dec. 2 near Orlando. Both are being held without bond in the Broward County Jail and the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford, respectively.
Brown will be moved to Broward County, where both are expected to stand trial, police said. They each face charges of felony murder with a firearm.
