Casino Volunteers Edmonton
- Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations helps organizations to build and sustain their volunteer programs and services through resources, networking, and skill development opportunities. We are a member-based nonprofit organization serving the nonprofit and charitable organizations in.
- On Friday June 14th and Saturday June 15th directors and members of EDHS worked a casino at West Edmonton Mall. Working this casino allows the Society to secure gaming revenue through AGLC. This money is then put towards eligible expenses. Casino revenues make up a very significant part of our funding, and we couldn’t do.
Every two years, ESPS provides volunteer staffing at Casino Edmonton on Argyll Road. In exchange for two long days of work by about 40 volunteers, ESPS earns a cheque for approximately $75,000 from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
Location Centre 170, Suite 145 10403 – 172 Street Edmonton, AB, T5S 1K9.
That’s a lot of money, and it goes a long way towards subsidizing concert hall rentals, costs for group classes, professional development for teachers, and piano equipment and maintenance.
Working as a casino volunteer is a substantial time commitment for volunteers. That’s why, when you volunteer at the casino, it counts as your volunteer commitment for two years. Essentially, ESPS casino volunteers receive a free pass from volunteering every second year.
The dates for ESPS’ next casino are Thursday November 15 and Friday November 16, 2018. We’re looking for volunteers to work in daytime and evening shifts. No experience is necessary to volunteer – a paid casino advisor is on hand to guide you through every aspect of the job. We’ll buy you a meal at the casino restaurant, and you’ll have a chance to meet and work with other excellent ESPS parents. Some of you have already signed up to volunteer, and we thank you!

On behalf of the Strathcona Community League I would like to thank all of the volunteers who gave generously of their time to work at our Casino. It was heart warming to hear how much the community league means to each of you that you wanted to give back to us by volunteering. The Casino funds are very important to the operation of the league and thanks to your gift of volunteering we can continue to offer the programming and events we do.
